Connection states
Neo shows where you are in the connect flow:- Not connected: you haven’t authorized Atlassian yet, or you disconnected. Select the product and click Authorize to start.
- Awaiting install: you authorized, but the app isn’t installed on a site yet. Click Install and approve it in Atlassian.
- Connected: Neo is live and responds to
@neo.
It still says “Awaiting install” after I installed
The install takes a moment to reach Neo, and the status updates on its own.- Wait a minute or two, and it switches to Connected automatically.
- Confirm you installed on the same site you meant to connect.
I reconnected but had to install again
The app was fully uninstalled from Atlassian, so reconnecting needs a reinstall.- If the app is still installed, Reconnect only needs the Authorize step.
- If it was uninstalled, authorize and install again.
It connected to the wrong site
Your Atlassian account can access more than one site.- If Neo asks, pick the right site in the Choose a site step.
- To move later, just install Neo on the site you want, and it becomes the connected one.
Neo doesn’t respond to @neo
- The comment didn’t mention
@neo(or/neo). Plain comments are ignored. - The product isn’t Connected. Check its status in Settings.
- The app is Outdated after a permissions change. A site admin approves the update in Atlassian → Manage apps.
Neo won’t read Confluence
- Confluence must be connected on its own, since connecting Jira alone isn’t enough.
- Confluence is read-only. Neo can read and search pages but can’t create or edit them.
